About Enlightened English

One thing has consistently bothered me in my years teaching English: Generic reading passages, useless grammar drills, and dry discussion questions.

There are sites with thousands of lessons, but how many actually teach something worth knowing? Why learn English with uninteresting content that is not generally applicable in the real world?

Many adults don’t want articles that treat them like children; they want content that actually stimulates them.

When I finally began creating content that actually engages minds, my students came alive. They weren’t just learning English anymore—they were learning something worth knowing in English.

The purpose of Enlightened English is to help you learn English through content you’d want to consume even in your native language.

Behind it all, I’m Tyler, the teacher and creator of Enlightened English. I hold a Juris Doctor (JD) and scored in the 96th percentile on the LSAT, and I’ve spent nearly a decade teaching English to adults—including practising lawyers, university professors, and other professionals who need precise, real-world English.

Alongside the law and the classroom, I’ve trained for years in mindfulness and meditation. That blend of analytical rigor and contemplative depth is the whole idea here—I’m here to help you improve your English and your mind.
