I offer individual TOEFL and English lessons selectively, based on how well your goals fit my teaching approach and style. To apply, please send a short letter to tyler@enlightenedenglish.com introducing yourself and explaining what you hope to achieve. You can also email me with any questions about lessons, learning materials, slide decks, or the website.

Your introduction

Please try to respond in around 200–300 words, covering the following:

• What you do: your work, studies, or current interests.
• Your goals: what you want to accomplish and why it matters to you now.
• Your current English: where you feel comfortable and what you find difficult. Include a recent test score if you have one.
• Where you need English: the situations you want to handle more confidently, such as university study, professional discussions, presentations, or everyday communication.
• Your timeline: any test date, application deadline, or other target.
• Your commitment: your preferred lesson frequency and the time you can realistically give to independent practice.
• Your location and availability: your country, time zone, and usual available times.
• Why you would like to study with me: what drew you to my teaching approach or materials.

Attach your cover letter to an email as a Word document (.docx) or PDF. You can also paste the letter directly into the message.

I review applications personally. If your goals and availability are a good fit for both of us, I’ll be in touch to discuss lesson options and rates.

Rates

I discuss rates individually, taking into account your local currency and purchasing power. If I accept your application, I’ll confirm that by email and offer one free consultation lesson before paid lessons begin.
